The CCRB is an independent agency that investigates, mediates, prosecutes, and recommends action in response to complaints of alleged police misconduct including: the use of excessive or unnecessary force, abuse of authority, discourtesy or the use of offensive language.  In certain cases, the CCRB’s Administrative Prosecution Unit prosecutes officers who were found to have committed misconduct. The CCRB also conducts outreach to educate communities about the Agency, and offers information on how to de-escalate and respond to police during and encounter in order to promote understanding between officers and the communities they serve.

In an effort to strengthen community partnerships and establish a more accessible agency, CCRB staff will be available during evening hours to take complaints and address related questions right here in our district.
